There are different types of dentures: complete dentures (replace all teeth in a jaw), partial dentures (replace at least one tooth in a jaw), and overdentures (held in place and secured by implants or “mini” implants). “Immediate” dentures are made prior to teeth being removed, and allow a patient to avoid the period of time with no teeth.
